She is currently pursuing an MA in Sociology as well as a degree in Tourist Guiding. Since 2020, she has been actively involved in various civil society organizations. She has served as a project coordinator and social media manager at the Disaster Risk Reduction Association, a member of the TabuKamu Youth Advisory Board, and a Menstrual Justice Ambassador at We Need to Talk Association. Afife Ebrar works on human rights, ethnic minority rights, gender equality, collective memory, grave human rights violations, linguistic and cultural rights, and freedom of expression.

Born in Siverek, Şanlıurfa, in 1997, he graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at Mardin Artuklu University. After completing the Architectural Computing in Design program at Istanbul Technical University, he has been working in the fields of cultural heritage preservation and digital archiving. He contributes to projects that document and recreate Kurdish, Syriac, and Armenian architectural heritage in virtual reality environments.
Born in Nevşehir in 1997, Eşref Bilge Uğurlu is a medical doctor. He has also received training in Health Management and Occupational Health and Safety. For the past 12 years, he has been actively involved in civil society, working on issues including human rights, youth rights, women's and children's rights, civic participation, governance, digital literacy, and rural development. He has extensive experience in project management, financial management, volunteer management, resource mobilization, training, field coordination, and community organizing. Since 2021, he has focused his work on the right to health and health rights advocacy. He continues to serve as a board member of the Health Right Association, of which he is the founding president.
Born in Lüdenscheid, Germany, in 1999, she completed her primary and secondary education in Werdohl before returning to Türkiye in 2020 to begin her undergraduate studies in the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema at Çukurova University. She graduated in 2025. During her studies, she contributed to numerous short films and documentaries. In 2023, she produced films on the earthquakes in Türkiye, focusing on the human dimensions of the disaster. In the same year, she joined the Reel Borders team. Her documentary Borders (Sınırlar, 2024), which explores themes of migration and belonging, was screened in the special selection of the Golden Boll Film Festival. She continues to work in the fields of short film and creative documentary. As someone with a migrant background, her work primarily focuses on themes of borders, identity, and belonging. She believes in the power of documentary filmmaking to raise awareness of social issues and aims to make real stories, lived experiences, and collective memory more visible. Her interests include documentary cinema, photography, the artistic representation of social issues, intercultural exchange, and storytelling.
Born in Diyarbakır in 2002, she completed her education in Bingöl. She was introduced to civil society during her high school years, and what began then has since become a lasting commitment. Since then, she has participated in workshops and programmes and engaged in volunteer work focusing on human rights, social peace, and gender equality. She believes in the importance of ethical and inclusive language, with a particular focus on combating hate speech and disinformation. She continues to contribute to initiatives that promote a more inclusive and peaceful future.
Born in Akhisar, Manisa, in 1999, he graduated from the Department of Sociology at Marmara University in 2023. As a fourth-generation exchange descendant of Patriot/Vallahades heritage, he researches the histories of Greek-speaking Muslims through the memories of his family and community. He serves as a volunteer community advisor on Muslim minorities in Türkiye for the Vanishing Languages and Cultural Heritage project led by the Austrian Academy of Sciences. His work aims to document, preserve, and make visible the cultural memory of Greek-speaking Muslims in Western Anatolia, while fostering its transmission to younger generations. His research interests include Ottoman modernization, Balkan history, collective memory, historical sociology, autoethnographic methods, and post-anarchist theory.

His research explores how performers engage with the concept of the "gaze" both in everyday life and on stage. Born in Hatay in 1999, he studied Social Services at Anadolu University between 2019 and 2021. Since 2016, he has been engaged in rights-based work with the Dom community in Hatay, advocating against the social exclusion, discrimination, and rights violations faced by his community. In 2021, he became a founding activist in the establishment of the Civil Dreams Association (Sivil Düşler Derneği), with the aim of bringing a new perspective to the Roma and Dom movement. Following the earthquakes, he has continued to document rights violations affecting Dom, Abdal, and Roma communities in Hatay while advocating for their rights. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Civil Dreams Association.

They are currently pursuing an MA in the German-Turkish Master's Program in Social Sciences, a joint programme of Humboldt University of Berlin and Middle East Technical University (METU), with a DAAD scholarship. During their studies, they participated in a project for refugee children in Cairo, Egypt, and completed an Erasmus+ traineeship at the University of Duisburg-Essen, focusing on migration waves originating from Türkiye. They currently work as a Project Assistant and Communications Officer at the Friedrich Naumann Foundation. They are also a volunteer with Nehna and a participant in the 2024 Memory and Youth Programme.
Born in Dersim in 1997, they moved to İzmir after high school, where they spent approximately six years completing their undergraduate studies. They hold a bachelor's degree in psychology from Ege University. Before, during, and after their university education, they were actively involved in various professional and civil society initiatives. Even before memory studies became a professional focus, they had long reflected on the field, observed its impacts, and engaged with it through their professional practice. After becoming involved in memory projects, their work in this area developed on a more solid foundation. As part of the Memory and Youth program, they focused on the events that took place in Dersim in 1937–1938—a subject they have long examined from both psychological and sociological perspectives. They developed their project around this topic, grounding it in a series of interviews, and continue to expand this work.

In this field, she has published research reports for civil society organizations, as well as articles, essays, and book chapters in various outlets. Tiftik serves on the editorial boards of the peer-reviewed journals KaosQ+ and Feminist Tahayyül. She is a member of the Gender Equality Solidarity Network (AĞ-DA), ATGENDER (The European Association for Gender Research, Education and Documentation), and the University Faculty Members Association (UNIVDER).

In 2020, she coordinated the project Dersim 1937–38: Mapping the Sites of Massacres and Mass Graves in Turkey, supported by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation. The project aimed to document one of the bloodiest massacres in twentieth-century Türkiye. From 2012 to 2017, she served as an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Communication at Çukurova University. In 2017, like many of her colleagues, she was dismissed from public service under an Emergency Decree for signing the "We Will Not Be a Party to This Crime" peace petition, which condemned the state's violence in the Kurdish region. As an activist, she continues to advocate for academic freedom and the production of critical knowledge in Türkiye.

Guided by her belief that the story of humanity is reflected in every individual's story, and that personal narratives can contribute to social transformation, she has focused her work on autobiographical storytelling. In 2019, she began performing her autobiographical story, Meeting Once Upon a Time, developed under the mentorship of Senem Donatan Mohan. In the same year, she participated in the three-week Intensive Autobiographical Storytelling workshop in Crete, led by Stella Kassimati and Sue Hollingsworth. Drawing on these experiences, she went on to design and facilitate workshops on autobiographical storytelling. Driven by her curiosity about self-discovery and human nature, as well as her belief in the transformative power of folktales and stories, she completed the Basic Existential Analysis Training at the Existential Academy between 2018 and 2020. She is currently enrolled in the Art Therapy for Mental Health, Education and Social Change programme, jointly offered by the European Graduate School and TAE Barcelona, which she began in February 2021. Alongside one-to-one coaching and group workshops in autobiographical storytelling, she continues to tell stories and facilitate workshops for both children and adults.

Having transitioned from history to law, she completed the Graduate Diploma in Law in London in 2018. Between 2018 and 2019, she contributed to the human rights and legal work of the Democratic Progress Institute and REDRESS. In 2019–2020, she was a fellow of the Mercator Stiftung re:constitution programme and served as the coordinator of the Centre for Democracy and Peace Research (CDPR)'s capacity-building programme for solidarity academies in Türkiye. She joined the Truth Justice Memory Center (Hafıza Merkezi) in June 2020.

Bêrîvan Saruhan was born in Kızıltepe, Mardin, in 1994. She graduated from the Department of Kurdish Language and Literature at Mardin Artuklu University in 2017. She has worked both professionally and as a volunteer with numerous civil society organizations. She is a board member of the Women's Time Association (Kadın Zamanı Derneği), which works on gender equality and combating violence against women. In 2024, she served as an advisor to the Mardin Metropolitan Municipality. Since 2016, she has also been working as a sworn freelance translator, editor, and Kurdish language instructor.

Berfin Kübra Ceyhan was born in Diyarbakır in 1997. She graduated from the Department of Sociology at Marmara University in 2020. Zehra Nazlı (b. 1992, Ankara) is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice focuses on research-based visual work. She graduated from the Department of Painting at the University of Tehran. Between 2018 and 2022, she worked in the field of migration and refugee rights at a civil society organization in Türkiye. Since 2023, she has continued her practice as an independent artist based in South America.

She participated in the 2023 Memory and Youth Programme organized by the Truth Justice Memory Center. As part of the programme, she conducted research on the 1966 Ortaca Incidents.

bak.ma was established as an open online archive to make publicly accessible the visual materials collected and produced by the Videoccupy video collective during the Gezi Park protests. Videoccupy was formed by people from diverse backgrounds and experiences who came together throughout the protests. Although the collective disbanded after the resistance, bak.ma and the Gezi Archive were launched online in 2014. Since 2015, bak.ma's collection has expanded through materials contributed by the collectives, trade unions, and individual archives that participated in and stood in solidarity with the Gezi movement.

Noémi Lévy-Aksu 2010’de Ecole des hautes études en sciences sociales’dan (EHESS) tarih doktorasını aldı. 2010-2017 arasında Boğaziçi Üniversitesi tarih bölümünde yardımcı doçent olarak çalıştı ve çeşitli akademik yayınlara imza attı. 2016-2018 yıllarında British Academy bursuyla Birkbeck College hukuk fakültesinde Türkiye’de olağanüstü hal tarihi hakkında araştırma yürüttü. The project focused on the life stories of children killed in the Kurdish provinces of Türkiye. In 2023, together with Yasemin, he contributed to updating the database of the Faili Belli website. He also took part in the fieldwork of the Justice Heals project. Since 2023, he has been working at the Foundation for Society and Legal Studies while also practicing as an independent lawyer.

In the same year, she participated in the first fieldwork phase of the Justice Heals project. Elif Balcı, who participated in the Memory and Youth Project in 2021, received her bachelor's degree in International Relations from Middle East Technical University (METU) and went on to complete an MSc in Gender and Development at the London School of Economics. She currently works as a researcher and consultant with civil society organizations and international institutions on issues related to gender equality, human rights, and sustainable development.
Born in Afyonkarahisar in 1973, she graduated from the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Boğaziçi University in 1997. She completed her MA at SOAS, University of London, and earned her PhD in Turkish Studies at Leiden University. Between 2005 and 2008, she taught undergraduate and graduate courses at Utrecht University and Leiden University. During the 2008–2009 academic year, she was a visiting researcher in Berlin as part of the Europe in the Middle East – The Middle East in Europe research programme. Since 2010, she has been a faculty member in the Department of International Relations at Istanbul Okan University, where she teaches courses on Turkish political history, the history of political thought, and gender.

Besna Tosun, İnsan Hakları Derneği (İHD) İstanbul Şubesi Gözaltında Kayıplara Karşı Komisyonu ve İnsan Hakları Derneği Merkez Yürütme Kurulu üyesi olan bir insan hakları savunucusudur. Besna, babası Fehmi Tosun’un 19 Ekim 1995’te evlerinin önünde gözaltına alınarak zorla kaybedilmesine tanık oldu. O tarihten bu yana, Cumartesi Anneleri ile birlikte gözaltında zorla kaybedilen kişiler için hakikat ve adalet mücadelesi yürütmektedir.

Aynı zamanda çağdaş Ladino (Djudeo-Espanyol) dilini güçlendirmeye yönelik projelerde aktif olarak yer aldı.
1984 yılında Bursa’da doğdu. 2007’de ODTÜ Uluslararası İlişkiler Bölümü’nden mezun oldu. Ardından aynı üniversitenin Sosyoloji bölümüne bağlı Sosyal Antropoloji yüksek lisans programını bitirdi. 2009’dan, “Bu Suça Ortak Olmayacağız” bildirisine imza attığı için KHK ile ihraç edildiği Eylül 2016 tarihine kadar Ankara Üniversitesi DTCF Sosyoloji bölümünde araştırma görevlisi olarak çalıştı. Lisans yıllarından itibaren halkbilimsel, etnografik, derinlemesine görüşmelere dayanan birçok saha araştırması yaptı; sözlü-tarih projelerinde yer aldı. Halen doktora öğrencisi ve bağımsız araştırmacı olarak akademik çalışmalarına devam etmektedir. İzmir’de yaşayan bir Ankara-severdir.
ODTÜ Uluslararası İlişkiler mezunu. Toplum Gönüllüleri Vakfı (TOG), Öğrenci Yaklaşımları Derneği, Gündem Çocuk, Ka.Der Ankara gibi sivil toplum örgütlerine yer aldı. 2010 – 2020 yılları arasında STGM’de; teknik destek, toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği, gönüllü yönetimi, örgütlenme, stratejik planlama, politika oluşturma gibi alanlarda kapasite güçlendirme faaliyetlerini yürüttü. Haklara Destek programında rehberlik yaptı. 2022’den beri STGM’de Mentor. Aynı zamanda çocuk kitaplarının ve masalların takipçisi. Feminist Alfabe Seti’ni hazırlayanlardan, Evvel Zaman Söylenceleri bloğunun yazarı. Dayanışma, bellek, barış konularına ilgili.
Zafer Çeler, doktora derecesini Paris 1 Sorbonne – Panthéon Üniversitesi'nde siyaset bilimi alanında aldı. Tarih Vakfı ve Sivil Toplum Geliştirme Merkezi gibi çeşitli sivil toplum kuruluşlarında çalıştı. Halen İstanbul Kent Üniversitesi Siyaset Bilimi ve Kamu Yönetimi Bölümü'nde doktor öğretim üyesi olarak görev yapmaktadır. Akademik ilgi alanları, tarih-zaman ilişkileri ve toplumsal bellekten göç çalışmaları ve toplumsal cinsiyet konularına kadar uzanan geniş bir yelpazeyi kapsamaktadır.
1973’te Afyonkarahisar’da doğdu. 1997’de Boğaziçi Üniversitesi Siyaset Bilimi ve Uluslararası İlişkiler Bölümü’nden mezun oldu. Yüksek lisansını Londra Üniversitesi SOAS’ta, doktora çalışmasını ise Leiden Üniversitesi Türkiye Çalışmaları Bölümü’nde tamamladı. 2005-2008 yıllarında Utrecht ve Leiden Üniversiteleri’nde lisans ve yüksek lisans dersleri veren Azak, 2008-2009 akademik yılında, “Europe in the Middle East - The Middle East in Europe” programı kapsamında Berlin’de misafir araştırmacı olarak bulundu. 2010’dan bu yana İstanbul Okan Üniversitesi Uluslararası İlişkiler Bölümü’nde öğretim üyesi olan Azak, Türkiye siyasi tarihi, siyasi düşünceler tarihi, toplumsal cinsiyet gibi alanlarda dersler veriyor.

Adnan Çelik, Paris EHESS’ten sosyal antropoloji alanında doktora derecesine sahip bir antropolog ve tarihçidir. Şu anda Almanya’daki Beşeri Bilimler İleri Araştırmalar Enstitüsü'nde (KWI) doktora sonrası araştırmacı olarak çalışmaktadır. Ayrıca, IFEA (Fransız Anadolu Araştırmaları Enstitüsü), CETOBaC (EHESS Türk, Balkan ve Orta Asya Çalışmaları Merkezi) ve Almanya’daki DFG araştırma ağı Çağdaş Türkiye Tarihi'nin bağlı bir üyesidir.
Özlem Şendeniz 1986 Rize doğumludur. 2019 yıllında Ankara Üniversitesi’nde doktora eğitimini tamamlamıştır. Iğdır Üniversitesi Siyaset Bilimi ve Kamu Yönetimi Bölümünde Araştırma Görevlisi olarak çalışırken kamuoyunda “Barış Bildirisi” olarak bilinen “Bu Suça Ortak Olmayacağız” başlıklı bildirinin imzacısı olması nedeniyle 686 sayılı KHK ile görevinden ihraç edilmiştir. Çalışma ve ilgi alanlarını bellek, mekân, kimlik, kadın ve toplumsal cinsiyet çalışmaları, toplumsal hareketler ve iletişim, çevre ve ekoloji oluşturmaktadır. “Kimdir Bu Lazlar?” Laz Kimliği ve Sanal Mekânda Lazca (İletişim, 2020) kitabının yazarı; Aramızda Kalmasın: Kır Kente ve Ötesinde Toplumsal Cinsiyet kitabının editörü; Sırtında Sepeti Bafra’dan Hopa’ya Karadeniz’de Kadınlık Halleri (Phoenix, 2018) kitabının editörlerindendir (Emek Yıldırım ile birlikte). Yeni Medya Yeni Pratikler Yeni Olanaklar (Ed. Emel Baştürk Akca, Umuttepe Yayınları, 2014), Değişen Karadeniz’i Anlamak (Der. He graduated from the Department of Sociology at Koç University in 2015. In the same year, he enrolled in the MA programme in Conflict Analysis and Resolution at Sabancı University, where he studied and worked as a teaching assistant for two years. Since 2015, he has worked with non-profit civil society organizations, including the Istanbul Policy Center and the Hrant Dink Foundation. Since joining the Truth Justice Memory Center (Hafıza Merkezi) in 2019, he has been serving as Project Coordinator of the Memory and Peace Studies Programme.
She graduated from the Department of Sociology at Galatasaray University in 2016. She completed her MA in the Analysis of Contemporary Societies programme at the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon.
Noémi Lévy-Aksu 2010’de Ecole des hautes études en sciences sociales’dan (EHESS) tarih doktorasını aldı. 2010-2017 arasında Boğaziçi Üniversitesi tarih bölümünde yardımcı doçent olarak çalıştı ve çeşitli akademik yayınlara imza attı. 2016-2018 yıllarında British Academy bursuyla Birkbeck College hukuk fakültesinde Türkiye’de olağanüstü hal tarihi hakkında araştırma yürüttü. Tarihten hukuka geçiş yapan Lévy-Aksu 2018’de Londra’da Graduate Diploma in Law tamamladı. 2018-2019’da Democratic Progress Institute ve Redress Trust’ın insan hakları-hukuk çalışmalarına katıldı. 2019-2020’da Mercator Stiftung re:constitution projesinin bursiyeri ve Centre for Democracy and Peace Research’ın (CDPR) Türkiye’deki dayanışma akademilerine yönelik kapasite geliştirme programının koordinatörü oldu. Haziran 2020’de Hafıza Merkezi ekibine katıldı.
